Current construction practices generate 50% of waste in the Construction & Demolition sector by disposing of materials in landfills. Blockchain Technology (BCT) can transform this by decentralizing ownership, enhancing transparency, and ensuring traceability of materials. BCT enables better lifecycle management, promotes reuse of materials from existing structures, supports regulatory compliance, and automates processes through smart contracts. Developing literature and practical applications of BCT in CCSC is essential for widespread adoption.
