Lack of transparency, long-term planning processes, and limited co-creation are parts of the encountering issues of cities. Consequently, collaboration across sectors, between stakeholders, and engaging citizens in the process plays an increasingly vital role in delivering a sustainable city. This research proposes ways of reusing the underutilized spaces and provides immediate interactions of citizens, the stakeholders, and the municipality to address the socio-economic and environmental challenges of the city.

Urban spaces ought not to be conceived through exclusively hierarchical or purely grassroots approaches. Instead, the planning and design should arise from a symbiotic collaboration between grassroots, stakeholders, experts, and municipal authorities.
