ADDRESSING CHALLENGES IN HANDOVER DOCUMENTATION IN GERMANY'S ELECTRIC GRID INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECTS FROM CONSTRUCTION TO OPERATION
CILLA MARY JOHNSON
The research highlights the interdependence between quality handover documentation and efficient asset operation. Focusing on the inefficiencies during transition from construction to operation, it identifies regulatory requirements, industry practices, and challenges through literature review and expert interviews. This thesis develops a standardized review process to improve handover document quality in Germany’s electric grid infrastructure projects. The outcome is a set of minimum requirements and tools—such as metadata template and checklist—to ensure consistent, accurate, and accessible documentation, supporting operational reliability.
